How to ensure that children know more and remember more primary science

Learning can be seen as knowing more, and remembering more, over time. This full day course, led by Tom Holloway from the Primary Science Teaching Trust, looks at strategies to ensure that teaching is effective in ensuring that children retain, and can retrieve, the knowledge they learn in science.

Participants will:

  • Develop their understanding of effective teaching strategies which will ensure that children know more and remember more science over time
  • Understand the role of retrieval practice
  • Look at resources that teachers can use to support planning for effective primary science teaching
  • Take away a range of effective practical strategies that can be applied back at school and shared with others
